COMMITTEE ROLES

COMMITTEE MEMBER
All committee members in any role are responsible for:

Working and behaving in a manner that supports the committee’s ideals.

Read and Understand the Agenda: Members should familiarise themselves with the agenda to contribute effectively.

Taking Action on Agenda Items: Committees are formed to accomplish specific tasks, and members are expected to act on these items.

Regular attendance and input to meetings (which are held regularly on Tuesday nights from 6pm), & Ensure meetings are efficient, collaborative and productive.

Upholding the value of due process, and back decisions made by the committee in this fair process.

Any subsequent work that is required to see the committee achieve its goals.
CHAIR
In addition to the aforementioned committee member responsibilities, your responsibilities as Chair will include:

Planning meetings: The chair is responsible for scheduling committee meetings. This includes setting the date, time, and location.

Facilitating meetings: During meetings, the chair leads the discussion, ensures that all members have the opportunity to contribute, and keeps the meeting on track. They also manage any conflicts that arise and ensure that decisions are made democratically.

Reporting: The chair is responsible for preparing reports on the committee's activities and presenting them to the board or other relevant bodies. This includes summarising discussions, decisions, and any recommendations.

Coordinating with other committees: The chair may need to schedule and facilitate cross-committee meetings to ensure collaboration and alignment on shared goals.

Managing documentation: The chair ensures that meeting minutes are accurately recorded and distributed, and that all committee documents are managed and accessible to members.

Leadership and guidance: The chair provides leadership to the committee, helping to set goals and objectives, and guiding the committee in achieving them. They also support and mentor committee members as needed.
VICE CHAIR
In addition to the aforementioned committee member responsibilities, your responsibilities as Vice Chair will include:

Chairing meetings in the chair's absence.

Representing the committee at meetings of other committees in the chair's absence.

Assisting the chair in organising work and ensuring committee members are carrying out their duties.

Supporting the chair in facilitating discussions with inclusivity and diversity of discussion in mind.

Accepting reasonable requests and special assignments from the committee to pursue committee goals
TREASURER
In addition to the aforementioned committee member responsibilities, your responsibilities as Treasurer will include:

The financial oversight and planning of the Committee’s activities.
-
Advise on the organisations fundraising, and any compliance required with these funds.

Record- keeping & compliance to any legislative conditions applicable to the Incorporated Association
-
Banking, Invoicing & Payments.
SECRETARY
In addition to the aforementioned committee member responsibilities, your responsibilities as Secretary will include:

Record keeping of committee documents, and maintenance of membership register.
-
Correspondence for the committee, including the distribution of agendas.
-
Minute taking.
-
Ensuring the committee complies with legal requirements.
-
Investigation into any suspected offense or reported offense of the Collective's members.
WORKING MUSICIAN'S CHAIR
In addition to the aforementioned committee member responsibilities, your responsibilities as Working Musician's Chair will include:

Bringing a working musicians perspective and input to committee discussions.
INDIGENOUS REPRESENTATIVE CHAIR
In addition to the aforementioned committee member responsibilities, your responsibilities as Indigenous Representative Chair will include:

Bringing a first nations perspective and input to committee discussions, to ensure that the committee is acting in a culturally and socially responsible manner.
